Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Pinxton river gauge as a result of Storm BABET. Consequently, flooding of property is expected from 07:45 to 08:45 today, 20/10/23. Areas most at risk are Pinxton, and Selston, including Beaufit Lane, Guildhall Lane, Plymouth Avenue, York Terrace, and Alexander Terrace.
Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to continue rising until 20:00 on 20/10/23.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and have a bag ready with vital items like medicines and insurance documents.
This message will be updated by 16:00 this afternoon, 20/10/23, or as the situation changes.
