Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

River levels continue to rise at the Waterhouses river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property/roads and farmland is expected today, 01/01/2025. We expect flooding to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Hamps and River Manifold including Waterhouses. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 6 hours. We expect river levels to remain high. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 17:00 on 01/01/2025, or as the situation changes.
