Flooding possible. Be prepared.
River levels in South London are forecast to rise overnight tonight through to the early hours of tomorrow morning, Tuesday 08/10/2024. Further rain showers are expected throughout the day on Tuesday with a further band of heavy rain forecast for Tuesday afternoon and overnight. Flooding is forecast to affect low lying land near rivers between the hours of 11pm tonight and throughout Tuesday 08/10/2024. Property flooding is unlikely but remains possible. We are prepared to issue Flood Warnings if required.
Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from the river.
Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued. This message will be updated by 8am tomorrow morning 8/10/2024.
