Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising on the River North Tyne due to rainfall produced by Storm Isha.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River North Tyne from Sunday evening 21/01/2024, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Properties and low lying areas around South End, South Waterside, Hatchery Cottages, The Anglers Arms and The Bakethin Fishing Lodge.
The persistent rain is expected to ease into Sunday night, however, river levels will remain high into Monday morning, 22/01/2024.
Our incident room is open, and we are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 22/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
