Flooding expected. Take action now.
Flooding is expected throughout Sunday 24th November. Heavy rain has been falling in the Dartmoor area throughout the weekend and will continue on Sunday. This is causing the River Okement to rise and flooding is expected. Properties and low lying areas around Brightley Mill, Farm and properties around Brightley Bridge, Jacobstowe Bridge, Mill and A3072 and Monkokehampton New Bridge and Mills are at risk of flooding during Sunday. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. We will be closely monitoring the situation, and this message will be updated if the situation changes.
