Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

Flooding is expected on Sunday evening and overnight into Monday.

Following heavy rain throughout Sunday, river levels are rising on the River Ottery. Properties and low lying areas around Leat Cottages and the B3254 may flood first from around 8pm on Sunday.

A further band of rain forecast over Sunday evening, followed by heavy showers, is expected to cause river levels to increase again overnight.

Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.

Take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions. Do not walk or drive through floodwater. We are monitoring river levels and have staff in the area checking for and clearing blockages. This message will be updated by 11am on Monday or earlier if the situation changes.
