Flood warning

The flood warning for the River Ouse at York – Clifton remains in force. The level of the River Ouse at York Viking Recorder is now 4.6m and expected to peak at about 4.7m in the early hours of Friday morning, 22/01/2021. No further significant rainfall is expected in the next 24 hours, but river levels will remain high overnight and into Friday. York Burdyke Pumping Station is in operation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths, and do not walk, cycle or drive through flood water. Please see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation and will update this message on Friday morning, or as the situation changes.
