Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen at the Harraby Green Business Park river gauge on the River Petteril as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible over the next few hours today 09/02/2020. Low lying roads, residential and commercial properties adjacent to the River Petteril at Harraby Green, from Upperby Bridge to Harraby Bridge. Flood water could be deep and fast flowing, and therefore pose a risk to life.
Rainfall is forecast to ease over the next 2 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until later this afternoon 09/02/2020.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.
This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
