This is an archived message. The status has changed more recently.
This message has been issued because there is a possibility of some flooding of homes and businesses from now and throughout this afternoon, Monday 17th August. River levels have risen signifcantly due to the intense rainfall. River levels are likely to continue to rise in response to the rainfall. Areas most at risk are Eastwood Brook around Rayleigh Road and Eastwoodbury Lane areas, Laurence Industrial Estate, Sutton Court Drive and Oak Road, Hall Road and St Andrew's Road in Rochford. We are not expecting the situation to escalate, although river levels may continue to rise for another hour and the river will respond quickly to any further rain even if levels do drop in between showers. The forecast is for possible further heavy rainfall over the course of the afternoon. Be ready to take action to protect your property if flooding is expected. We are monitoring the situation and will update this message as necessary.
