This is an archived message. The status has changed more recently.
This message has been issued because some minor flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside areas is likely this evening Thursday 4th January 2024. River levels are currently high as the river responds to current rainfall. Areas most at risk are Eastwood Brook around Rayleigh Road and Eastwoodbury Lane areas, Laurence Industrial Estate, Sutton Court Drive, Oak Road, Hall Road and St Andrews Road in Rochford. River levels will likely continue to rise this evening in response to further rain but then fall quickly overnight. The forecast is for continued unsettled weather over the next couple of days with further rain showers throughout the week. Take care on riverside footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation closely. We will update this message tomorrow, Friday 5th January.
