This message has been issued because some minor flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside areas is likely and issues with surface water flooding and difficult driving conditions from 9:30pm this evening Friday 13th June, through to 10:00am Saturday morning. Areas most at risk are riverside areas of the Eastwood Brook around the A1015, Rayleigh Road, and Prittle Brook along Manchester Drive in Leigh-on-Sea. It is possible that we may need to issue more warning messages in response to the rainfall. The forecast is for some heavy thundery rainfall from 10:00pm tonight which will pass quickly, but which may be torrential and could lead to some surface water problems. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. Our workforce are out checking flood defences and clearing weed screens. We are monitoring the situation and will update this message by 10:00am tomorrow morning, Saturday 14th June, or as the situation changes.
