Flooding possible. Be prepared.
River levels are still rising in response to heavy rainfall over night and early this morning. Flooding remains possible today, Wednesday 01/01/2025. Areas most at risk include River Rother from Chesterfield to Staveley, including the Rivers Hipper, Drone and Whitting.
Rainfall is expected to clear this morning, and levels will remain high before falling later. We are closely monitoring the situation and will issue Flood Warnings if necessary. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk, drive or cycle through flood water. This message will be updated by 19:20 on Wednesday, 01/01/2025, or as the situation changes.
