River levels are forecast to rise on the River Riccal due to rainfall expected on Monday evening 01/01/24 and overnight into Tuesday morning 02/10/2024. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Riccal, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around land around the River Riccal and its tributaries including Bonfield Gill, Bogmire Gill, Ellerker Beck, Keld Spring Beck, Walmouth Beck, including properties to the West of Mill Street in Harome and properties along Howldale Land in Beadlam. Further rainfall is forecast for Tuesday. Our incident room is open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 8:00am on Tuesday 02/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
