Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are falling but remain high at the Kempsey Yacht Club river gauge as a result of the recent rainfall and rapid snowmelt. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads in and around Clifton and Severn Stoke.
Observed peaks:- Kempsey Yacht Club 6.9m Tuesday afternoon, 07/01/2025. Saxons Lode 5.08m Tuesday evening 07/01/2025.
No further significant rainfall is expected today. We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers.
This message will be updated by 10am on Thursday, 09/01/2025, or as the situation changes.
