Severe flooding expected. Take action immediately.
The level at the Saxons Lode river gauge is falling slowly, but levels remain high against the Uckinghall flood defence and still have the potential to cause risk to life.
Further rainfall is forecast which may keep levels high, though we do not expect them to rise significantly.
Flooding may affect properties and roads in and around Uckinghall. We anticipate that this severe flood warning will remain in force at least until Thursday 20/02/20.
Please consider moving possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and have a bag ready with vital items like medicines and insurance documents. Please follow advice from emergency services.
This message will be updated by 8am Thursday 20/02/20, or if the situation changes.
