Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Kegworth river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is imminent. Areas most at risk are Ratcliffe on Soar, and areas near the railway, at Kingston on Soar. Flood defences are at risk of overtopping at Ratcliffe on Soar Village.
No further significant rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high until Friday, 05/01/2024.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are pumping water away from properties at Ratcliffe on Soar Village.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and have a bag ready with vital items like medicines and insurance documents.
This message will be updated by 10:00 tomorrow morning, 04/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
