Flood warning

Heavy rain has been falling in the Harlow and Roydon area Thursday (14th January). This is causing the river to rise and may rise further this evening.
Property flooding is possible. If the river continues to rise, properties and low lying areas around Harlow and Roydon will start to flood this evening on Thursday. River levels will remain high throughout the night and any flooding could continue for a number of hours.
Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in all these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now and monitor local water levels. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.
We will be closely monitoring the situation throughout the evening and we have staff available to clear any blockages in the river. This message will be updated this afternoon or as the situation changes.
