Flooding expected. Take action now.
This flood warning remains in force as river levels have risen as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. The current level of the River Swale at Myton Bridge is 5.8m and further rainfall is forecast overnight. We expect river levels to rise further overnight. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected today, Wednesday 20/01/21 and into Thursday 21/1/2021. Areas most at risk are properties in Myton-on-Swale. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and do not walk or drive through fast moving water. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
