Flooding expected. Take action now.
Water levels in the River Test at Romsey and Testwood are high and continue to rise. In the last 24 hours, 45mm of rain has been recorded at Romsey. This is more than half a month’s rain and follows a prolonged, wet winter. Currently, there is extensive out of bank flooding affecting fields, land and gardens throughout Romsey and Testwood. At the southern end of Romsey, the river is very high and there is a risk of flooding at Causeway, Mainstone and Rivermead Gardens. Rainfall should clear the area by 16:00 this afternoon (16/02/2020) but levels in the river won’t peak until later on this evening, probably around 20:00. In order to help protect property our operations staff are deploying sand bags. If any residents have their own flood protection, we recommend that this is installed now. This Flood Warning will be updated by 12:00 on 17/02/2020.
