River Test at Romsey and Testwood

Message issued at 11:29am, Tuesday 18th February 2020

Warning no longer in force

Water levels in the River Test at Romsey and Testwood remain high but they are now slowly falling. Over the next 5 days, there will be a significant amount of water flooding land and fields from Timsbury to Romsey and at Broadlands and Testwood. Footpath flooding will affect Rivermead Close and the Memorial Park. At Romsey Industrial estate, water will pond on land near to Greatbridge Road. A Flood Alert will remain in force for the Lower Test to cover these impacts. Over the next 5 days, small amounts of rain are forecast each day, except on Friday (21/02/2020) which should remain dry. Throughout this week, water levels in the river will remain high, and will rise and fall a little with the rain. A continuation of minor impact flooding affecting land and roads is expected. We have deployed flood barrier at Riverside Gardens and protected property at Mainstone and Causeway. We continue to monitor the forecast and will issue further advice if levels rise significantly.
