Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Church Wilne river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is expected to begin between 06:00 and 08:00 today, 21/10/23. Areas most at risk are Shardlow and Great Wilne.
Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until 06:00 on 22/10/23.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid contact with flood water.
This message will be updated by 10:00 today, 21/10/23, or as the situation changes.
