River Trent in Derbyshire

Flood Alert

As a result of heavy rainfall river levels remain high but have fallen slightly at the Willington Cableway river gauge. Consequently, the risk of flooding of roads and farmland remains. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Willington, Barrow upon Trent, Swarkestone, Bargate Lane and the access roads to Willington Meadows, the Twyford Village access road, Church Lane at Barrow, and Ingleby Lane. The current river level at the Willington river gauge is 2.4m. The current level at the Shardlow river gauge is 1.7m. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 18/10/2019, or as the situation changes.

This information last updated 5:36pm, Thursday 17th October.
