Flooding possible. Be prepared.
The risk of flooding remains. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Willington, Barrow upon Trent, Swarkestone, Bargate Lane and the access roads to Willington Meadows, the Twyford Village access road, Church Lane at Barrow, and Ingleby Lane. Light rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. River levels at Willington and Shardlow Gauge are likely to remain elevated until 24/01/26. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 9am on 23/01/26 or as the situation changes.
