Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High river levels today may lead to flooding. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Willington, Barrow upon Trent, Swarkestone, Bargate Lane and the access roads to Willington Meadows, the Twyford Village access road, Church Lane at Barrow, and Ingleby Lane. No further rainfall is forecast. River levels at Willington Gauge are falling, but still pose a flood risk. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses .
