Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Flooding is possible this morning and afternoon on 27 August 2026. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around the tributaries of the River Trent in Nottinghamshire, the River Greet, Potwell Dyke, Dover Beck, Cocker Beck, Woodborough Brook, Ouse Dyke, Thurgarton Beck and others. Thunderstorms are forecast over the next 24 hours, with low confidence over timing and locations. River levels at Lowdham Gauge may rise rapidly due to the nature of the catchment. Low rainfall totals are forecast Friday, 28/08/2026. We are closely monitoring the situation & clearing debris from weed screens. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses & monitor local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 20:00 PM on 27 August 2026, or as the situation changes.
