River Wansbeck Flood alert 9:06am, Tuesday 9th December 2025

Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

River levels are rising as a result of Storm Bram and will remain high into this afternoon.
Flooding is possible from the morning of 09 December 2025.
Rainfall from Storm Bram will continue into early Tuesday afternoon. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers.
The flood gates in the Mitford Road/High Stanners area of Morpeth are now closed. Properties at Wansbeck Street should operate their Property Level Protection now.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
