Flooding expected. Take action now.
Heavy rain has fallen across the River Welland catchment over the past few days. Drier conditions are expected for the rest of today. River levels have peaked upstream and flood water is still making its way down the catchment. As a result we are expecting properties in Market Deeping to continue to be affected throughout today, Saturday 26th December. Levels are expected to start receeding overnight however there is more rain forecast Sunday and Monday. Low lying properties near the river are most at risk. Stay safe, and be aware of your local surroundings. Avoid riverside paths and please stay away from river embankments and flood water. We are monitoring the situation, and have staff in the area checking flood defences, clearing blockages, and assisting the Emergency Services and Council. This message will be updated again on Sunday 27th December, or as the situation changes.
