Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising on the River Wiske due to recent heavy rainfall. Flooding is expected from 8pm tonight. Areas most at risk are properties in Kirby Wiske, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected. No further significant rainfall is expected overnight but levels may remain high through tomorrow morning. Our incident room is open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Put your flood plan in action. Avoid using low-lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 1AM on Thursday 02/01/2025, or as the situation changes.
