Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

Floodwater is reducing but a considerable amount of water remains on the Somerset Levels and Moors. Flooding is still affecting the low-lying Muchelney and West Sedgemoor moors near the Rivers Yeo and Parrett. We are maximising the pumps at Huish Episcopi pumping station and some pumping continues at West Sedgemoor pumping station. A mostly dry Wednesday is forecast but showers return Thursday afternoon and a band of heavier rain overnight into Friday. We are closely monitoring the situation, and our Field Teams continue to operate structures and pumps. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Don’t put yourself or others at risk. This message will be updated by 1pm on 12 March 2026.
