Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Flooding continues to be possible to low lying land and roads on 16 December 2025. The heavy rain on Sunday (14/12/2025) and in the early hours of Monday (15/12/2025) has caused river levels to rise, however, this has now passed and river levels are falling. Lake levels remain high. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers Eamont and Lowther to their confluence with the River Eden at Langwathby. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 17 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
