Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

River levels on the Isle of Sheppey have risen as a result of heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours. Flooding of roads and low-lying land close to the watercourses of Scrapsgate Drain and Warden Bay Drain is expected between 5:00pm this evening 12 March 2024 and 9:00am tomorrow morning 13 March 2024. This period of flooding is at the same time as the high tide, which is forecast at Sheerness at 2:05am tomorrow morning 13 March 2024.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from rivers.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths and road near local watercourses and remain aware of your local situation. Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued.
