Flooding possible. Be prepared.
This flood alert is to cover the River Rib at Buntingford only.
River levels are low and we do not currently expect property flooding, heavy rain from Storm Dennis has been falling throughout Sunday 16 February. River levels have risen slightly but not to a level of concern.
We are aware that a large tree has fallen across the River Rib at Buntingford, to the rear of Rib Way and adjacent to Millfield First School.
To reduce flood risk to properties in the area we have deployed sandbags and arranged for the tree to be removed from the river on Monday morning.
We are constantly monitoring river levels and will continue to monitor the situation throughout the night.
This message will be updated on Monday morning or earlier if the situation changes.
