Flooding expected. Take action now.
Persistent rain in the area has caused the Rivers Strat and Neet to rise rapidly. A further 20-30mm of rain is forecast this evening with flooding possible from 5pm.
Properties and low lying areas at Helebridge will start to flood first. The river level is expected to peak at around 7pm and could remain high for several hours afterwards.
Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.
Take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions. We are monitoring river levels and have staff in the area ready to respond as required. This message will be updated Monday morning or earlier if the situation changes.
