Flood warning

This message has been issued because there may be some issues with surface water flooding and difficult driving conditions over the next few hours and into this afternoon, Saturday 30 January. The River Colne is reacting quickly and continuing to rise in response to the current rainfall. Areas most at risk are Riverside Walk around North Bridge and Causton Road. Lower Castle Park and the Cricket ground. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate. The forecast is for some heavy rainfall this morning and into the afternoon, with no further significant rain forecast tomorrow. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are monitoring the situation, and will update this message by 6pm today.
