Flooding expected. Take action now.
Storm Eunice is expected to bring severe gale force winds across the Bristol Channel early on Friday, coinciding with low spring tides. We are expecting this to cause very large and powerful waves along the coast.
Forecast high water is 08:15 on 18/02/22 with a level of 7.43 mAOD and a Force 9 South Westerly wind. All times are local and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth, mAOD is height above average sea level for more detail refer to local tide tables. Flooding to properties is forecast at this time and conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We expect flooding to affect the Severn Estuary from New Passage to the Severn View Industrial Park including low lying properties at New Passage and Shaft Road, Beach Road, Station Road and Riverside Park in Severn Beach. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and liaising with emergency services. Please avoid using coastal footpaths and roads. We will update this message as the situation changes and new information is available.
