Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

Rising river levels this afternoon may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from the afternoon of 02 June 2026 from approximately 4:00 PM.
Locations most affected will be low lying land, gardens and roads close to local watercourses, including the River Shuttle and River Cray. Heavy rainfall has fallen since last night. Further rainfall is expected to continue for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening around 9:00 PM, with further showers which may cause river levels to rise further. We are closely monitoring the situation and are prepared to issue Flood Warnings if required.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking watercourses for blockages.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and avoid any low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 9:00 PM on 02 June 2026 or as the situation changes.
