Flooding expected. Take action now.
High spring tides combined with a tidal surge and strong winds may lead to overtopping of sea defences. However, the forecast tide height is predicted to be lower than those reached on Wednesday evening. Forecast high water is 21:00 on 12/03/20 with a level of 7.19 mAOD and a Force 7 Westerly wind. All times are local and refer to the high water time at Hinkley and mAOD is height above average sea level. For more details refer to local tide tables. There remains the risk of flooding to the most vulnerable seafront properties along the coastline between Sea Lane End and Blue Anchor Hotel including the chalets at Blue Anchor. Flooding may also affect the B3191 Carhampton Road.
This flood warning is not expected for any future tides but a flood alert may remain in force. We are closely monitoring the situation and we have operational gangs on the ground to monitor the tides and any impacts. Please be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths and roads.
