Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

The current sequence of high Spring tides, peaks this evening and may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible around 21:00 on Friday 14th August.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations at Porlock Bay, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the coastline between Gore Point and Hurlstone Point including Porlock Weir.
The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Hinkley of 6.49 mAODN at 21:00 on 14/08/26, which is 1.02m above tide tables, with Westerly force 5 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.)
After the high tide at 21:00 on 14/8/26, the weather is forecast to improve and no further flooding is expected.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded.
