Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High tides today may lead to flooding. 
Flooding is possible from this evening to the monring. 
Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers or on the coast.
The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Hinckley of 6.01 mAODN at 20.45 PM on 29/08/2026, with westerley force 7 winds.
Areas most at risk include the coastline between Gore Point and Hurlstone Point including Porlock Weir 
We are closing flood gates and monitoring the situation. 
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded . No property flooding is expected. 
This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 30 August 2026 or as the situation changes.
