Flooding expected. Take action now.
High tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding overnight.
Flooding is possible 3 hours either side of high tide on the evening of Wednesday 22nd
Areas particularly at risk include Hallsands, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton, Blackpool Sands, Teignmouth Promenade and Dawlish.
The high tide at Teignmouth on Wednesday is at 23:00, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 1.72mAOD, which is 0.15 metres above tide table level. Strong South Easterly winds and offshore wave heights up to 1.7m are forecast over the high tide.
Coastal conditions should ease for Thursday morning's high tide.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .
