High tides are expected to cause flooding on Friday.
Flooding is expected for 2 hours either side of Friday's early morning tide and early afternoon tide on 06/02/2026
For the tide at 02:03, the weather increases tide table values by 0.5 m. The total forecast tide is 5.16 metres Chart Datum (2.43 mAOD) at Portsmouth. Light South Easterly Force 4 wind. The tide at 14:06, is forecast to be 12cm lower (2.31 mAOD). The shingle beach at Eastoke Corner has been impacted by high energy waves. Water could push further up the beach than normal. Property at Eastoke corner, near the nature reserve, and Southwood Road may flood. Overtopping of splash walls along the beach front may flood gardens. Beach huts at West Beach, near the Inn on the beach may be affected.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Activate any flood protection products you may have . Avoid South Hayling seafront. Shingle can be thrown by wind and waves.
