Flood alert

Strong winds and spring tides may cause large waves and spray overtopping on the coast between 11:00 and 13:00 today (Tuesday 09/04/2024).

Areas most at risk include Warton, Carnforth, Crag Bank, Bolton-le-Sands, Hest Bank, Bare, Torrisholme, Great Hestham and Heysham Harbour.
No property flooding is expected.

Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.

This message will be updated by 17:00 on Tuesday 09/04/2024, or as the situation changes.

Higher than normal tides are expected until Thursday 11/04/2024. Further alerts or warnings may be issued.
