Flood warning

Heavy rain has fallen in the Nene catchment and will continue throughout the evening of Monday, September 23. This has caused Grendon Brook to rise and is forecast to continue to rise overnight. Low lying areas near to the Brook are already flooded and we expect properties in Grendon Brook catchment community to be affected from this evening onwards. Low lying properties near the river on Blackmile Lane in Grendon and Grendon Road, 600 Station Road, Mill Lane, Hardwater Road and Doddington Crossing are expected to be affected first. The Reservoirs around Grendon are full so will not be able to store any water so we expect the levels to be high for the next few days. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 22:00 on 24/09/24, or before if the situation changes.
