River Levels

Groundwater flooding for the North Winterborne, south of the A354

Message issued at 3:58pm, Thursday 5th March

Warning no longer in force

Groundwater levels have begun to fall. We do not expect further flooding and the flood warning has been removed.
Rivers and streams remain full due to high groundwater levels and will react rapidly to further rainfall. Some properties will still need to continue to use personal property flood protection to reduce risk of flooding. Levels forecast to recede further.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will issue further alerts or warnings if necessary. Flooded roads may still pose a flood risk, if vehicles create bow waves.
Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car. Septic tanks may need emptying as soakaways may not work for some time. Flood alert still in force, flooding of roads and fields still possible.
