Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Dakyn Inet river gauge as a result of Storm BABET. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected between 08:00 and 12:00 today, 20/10/23. Areas most at risk are Thurnby in Leicester City.
Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 36 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until 12:00 on 22/10/23.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses.
This message will be updated by 15:00, 20/10/23, or as the situation changes.
