Flooding expected. Take action now.
Flooding is expected over the high tide on Monday evening. High water at Ilfracombe is at 8pm, times of high water will vary along the coast. However conditions may apply two hours either side of the high tide.
Gale force 6 south westerly winds are forecast to cause high levels, waves and spray in the Taw and Torridge estuaries. Take care near coastal paths and promenades. This may cause localised standing water on roads at East the Water, Bideford, Muddlebridge and Instow. Do not drive through flood water or waves. There is potential for property flooding in the following areas; Rock Park in Barnstaple, Bishops Tawton, Lake and Fremington.
Coastal conditions should ease after this evening’s high tide, however we are continuing to monitor the situation and will issue updates if the situation changes.
Detailed tidal information for those who use it; The forecast high tide level is 5.61 mAOD, this is 0.23 metres above astronomical tide level.
