Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood Warning

Flooding is expected over the high tides on Thursday. High water at Ilfracombe on Thursday at 07:45 and 20:15, times of high water will vary along the coast. Conditions apply two hours either side of high tide. The tidal gate at Instow has been closed and the Environment Agency will be in the local area deploying sandbags and pumps. Force 6 west south west winds and offshore wave heights of up to 4.4m are forecast. This may cause localised property flooding and standing water on roads. Do not drive through flood water or waves. Keep up to date with weather and tide conditions on the local radio. We are monitoring the situation and will update this information on Thursday afternoon or if the situation changes. Detailed tidal information for those who use it; the forecast high tide level on Thursday morning is 5.53 mAOD and 5.15 mAOD on Thursday evening; this is 0.12 metres and 0.13 metres above astronomical tide level.
