Flooding expected. Take action now.
Tides are expected to be higher than usual due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides.
This Flood Warning has been issued because flooding is expected tomorrow afternoon on 08/04/2024 between 12:00 noon and 2:30 PM. Areas most at risk include locations nearest the estuary, in particular around Lower Upnor, Canal Road Strood and outer parts of the Medway Estuary.
The detailed tidal information for those who use it is for a peak level at Sheerness. The forecast high water is at 1:00 PM on 08/04/2024 with a level of 3.85 mAODN with easterly force 5 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level - for more info refer to local tide tables.)
We are expecting higher than normal tides over the next 3 days and as a result we may issue further alerts/warnings. We will continue to monitor levels closely.
Residents are strongly urged to take action. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
