Flooding possible. Be prepared.
The River Arun is high, but now falling near at Pallingham Lock, following Wednesday's rain. Flood impacts will continue to affect gardens of properties at Pallingham Lock. Between Horsham and Broadbridge Heath river levels are still higher than normal, but are falling. Minor flood impacts affecting gardens of Tanbridge Park, Blackbridge Court, and Arunside School fields and gardens of mill properties near Broadbridge Heath should slowly ease. A small amount of rain is forecast Friday morning, which should not increase flood risk significantly, but river levels could rise a little Friday afternoon. Only an isolated shower is forecast Friday afternoon through to Monday, which should allow river levels to fall over the weekend. River levels should return near to normal by Saturday in Horsham, Monday near Pallingham Lock. However, rain Tuesday could bring more flood risk. Our automatic sluice at Provender Mill is operating to reduce flood risk. Consider activating any flood protection products you may have. This message will be updated by 14:00 24/01/2026.
