Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

Flooding continues possible on 14 and 15 December 2025 .

Persistent rainfall is forecast throughout Sunday (14/12/2025) and Monday (15/12/2025), which will cause river levels to rise however, we do not expect Flood Warnings to be issued. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near the river Eden and other watercourses, from Kirkby Stephen to Temple Sowerby including low lying areas around Brough, Warcop, Great Ormside and Appleby.


We are closely monitoring the situation.


Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
