Flooding possible. Be prepared.
River levels are rising on the River Irwell due to heavy rainfall.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Irwell. Flooding is possible at low lying land and roads around the Rivers Beal, Roch and Croal, Limy Water and their tributaries from 6:00 PM on 03/10/2025.
We expect river levels to remain high until this evening on 03/10/2025.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area.
Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
