Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen at the Bedford river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall on Wednesday 23rd December. Consequently, flooding (of property) is imminent. We expect flooding to affect St Neots Road and Water Lane at Renhold, High Street, School Lane, Orchard Way and Churchgate at Great Barford, and Church Street at Tempsford. We are closely monitoring the situation. Further rainfall is forecast on Sunday 27th and Monday 28th December 2020 so we expect river levels to remain high. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services. Move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Please call 999 if in immediate danger. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes
